Located in the Canadian Rockies, Canada, there is a great place: Banff National Park. It is considered to be the oldest national park in Canada which was established in the year 1885. Besides, it is the third park in the world having natural hot springs.

The total area of the mountainous National Park is 6,641 square kilometers and has a huge territory of  glaciers, ice fields and thick forest and alpine landscapes. The ice field of the Banff National Park spreads and connects to another national park called the Jasper National Park.

The park also has some neighboring national parks;Yoho National Park is in west, the Kootenay National Park is in south and to the east you can find the Kananaskis Park. But the main commercial park is the Banff including the Banff town in the Bow River Valley. Banff – named for Banffshire, Scotland – and Lake Louise which forms part of the Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site are located within the park.

In the locality a lot of hotels and restaurants were opened and great sum of money were spent in order to attract great muss of tourists to the park as well as to the town. In 1960 the Banff National Park was open throughout the year and about 5 million visitors visited to the park. Today, the Banff National Park is one of the most visited parks in the world. Every year, millions of visitors come to Banff to genius at the emerald waters of Lake Louise, walk amongst the flower-filled heavens at Sunshine Meadows.
