The largest known crack in the world, The Grand Canyon, is a canyon in Arizona carved by the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon is 446 km long and 29 km wide and attains a depth of over 1,800 meters.
According to some dates, the canyons were made by the Colorado River some six million years ago.
You can see the Grand Canyon in different coloures at a different parts: brown, bright red and orange and it is the reason of heavy mineral deposition.
This canyon is the main part of the large Grand Canyon national park designated by Theodore Roosevelt.
The place was populated by the Native Americans who lived in the caves. During this time the place was a consecrated place for the travelers and the first person who discovered this part of the world was a European guy who arrived from Spain to this site in 1540.
